Der englische Gentlemen hat geantwortet. Hat einer das schon mal in Auftrag dort gegeben?
Hi xxx - Thanks for the interest in the conversions I offer. I get lots of questions so have a standard reply that I have included below but if you have any other questions do please just ask.
Standard reply....
As with many Yamaha motorcycles, the XJR1300 does not have an actual gear position sensor as standard, it has a neutral switch but that will not give a signal to represent selected gears. SO, the first thing I have done is converted the switch to also be a sensor that will signal the selected gear as well as giving a neutral indication. I purchase NEW ORIGINAL MFR Neutral switches and then convert them plus fit them with a new o-ring to seal against oil leaks.
I have put together a set of user instructions that detail how it works, how to fit it and how to set it up.

Unfortunately the conversion is NOT available in a DIY format. The conversion requires the clocks to be sent to me for the internal electronics work to be completed, after which I would then return them, together with the replacement (modified) neutral switch and interconnecting sub-loom to be be refitted to your bike.
I am based in Guildford and would normally expect to complete a conversion within 6-12 days of receipt of the clocks.
I only require the clocks in their plastics BUT without the silver rear bowls and removing them will make postage easier and cheaper.
The conversions thus far have been primarily to the later models with digital LCD fuel gauge, although it is possible to do the earlier mechanical sets too.
Costs -
The gear position indicator (GPi) with RED marker LEDs beneath the numbers 1 to 5 on the tacho, costs £130 but will also require a new modified Neutral switch which I will convert and supply for an additional £40.
If you want the backlighting colour changed to say blue, (LCD fuel level type) then that adds £30 if done at the same time as a GPi conversion (otherwise £60). Note that for the earlier models (pointer fuel level type) that use filament type bulbs, I can supply and install LED conversion boards at the same price of £30 and this will give a blue LED type illumination instead of the normal glass bulbs. So in essence, blue LED backlighting is available for both new and old version clocks for £30 when done at the same time as a GPi conversion.
Return postage to UK mainland locations is £11 for Royal Mail Special Delivery which is tracked, insured to £500 and next day by 1pm from when I despatch. Locations further afield (Worldwide) can be accommodated at additional cost, I normally use
http://www.parcel2go.com or Royal Mail International Signed for which is insured and tracked. (For Ireland it would be £15 with DPD couriers for a 1-3 day service)
I have done conversions for people all over the world, including France, Germany, Denmark, Finland, Sweden, Croatia, USA, Aus, NZ and many more.
Payments are not expected up front but would be required before despatch of converted clocks back and can be made by enclosed cheque (payable to 'Perminatech'), by direct transfer to my Nat West Business account, or by PayPal to
'paul.thompson@perminatech.co.uk' but I would have to ensure that any deductions by them (PayPal) are covered too. (normally 3.7 to 4.6%) If you are local and want to drop off and collect - no problem and payment can then also be made by cash if easier for you. Overseas transfers to my business account may incur additional transfer / exchange-rate charges accordingly.
So - please take a look at the user instructions and if you are interested in having your clocks converted, please contact me again so we can arrange for them to be converted and can exchange further details. If you have any other questions, just ask and I'll do my best to answer promptly.
I can also now provide a replacement Neutral switch that also has an output to drive a lamp or LED to indicate when you are in 5th. This can be used / fitted DIY and you just need to connect it to a lamp & 12v. Ask if interested...
Finally - a pic of a recently converted set complete
with blue backlighting, white Lockwood dials and GPi. (not the best pic as taken with phone but gives the idea)
GPi on standard dials and standard backlighting.
Blue backlighting and blue Lockwood dials
I’ve just done another set with Blue dials and GPi and IMHO this combination or with ‘stock’ dials gives the best transformation. The dials do look good, but they are produced on BLUE acrylic which means that the RED LEDs do not show through as well as the stock or blue dials, where the marker positions and numbers themselves are actually white, which in turn illuminates RED more readily.
(Hope that makes sense - if not, feel free to call me). If you want me to supply and fit the replacement Lockwood Dial faces - they add £35 to the total (basically at cost to me).
And at last !! - here’s an early set with gear indicator showing 5th gear.
NOTE: Unfortunately the early (Mechanical) sets are more difficult to convert, since space is so limited and there are no electrical buttons to use to set / config the GPi. (This means you’ll need to touch a supplied wire to earth to configure then secure the wire out of the way)
For this reason, the conversion cost of these is an additional £20, making a total of £150 + the modified replacement sensor at £40 = £190 + the postage at £11 - meaning £201 in all.
Finally - instructions detailing how they work can be viewed by clicking on the link below.
